Happiness is …

No they’re not mine.

The other week an old internet friend of mine, Helen, got in touch with me. We go right back to the days of Andrew Whitley’s Bread Matters forum, about 10 years ago, but we’ve been out of touch for ages.

Suddenly she pops up again having poked around the old haunts and noticing that I am very absent from D Lepard’s forum (I wonder why that is?). So she googles me and finds me blogging and flogging books.

Claiming to be only a sporadic baker these days, she buys a copy of the book and within what seems to be about 24 hours she’s sending me these fabulous photos of breads she’s made from the book.

That’s the sort of thing that makes me happy – giving people just the smallest incentive to bake.

  1. I made the seeded bread yesterday. My daughter described it as ‘lush’ this morning! High praise from a 15 year old!
