You might have noticed we are having a coronation here in the UK in the morning. We don’t get any choice in the matter – we are not citizens here, we are subjects of the Crown.
Anyway, I didn’t think the occasion worthy of a new creation, but here are a few items from the past that could adorn the royal bonce.
My own choice would be Rosca de Camerones en Escabeche (a ring of rice, prawns and chile sauce). Love to see that sliding down and mingling with the regalia.

The plainest would be a classic Couronne Bordelaise to remind the monarchy of lost territories.
Then there’s the Rosca de Reyes with its imitation jewels – you’ll only see the real things tomorrow (just don’t ask how and where they came from).
