Drinkies II – Hot Whisky

Sometimes, like now when the weather turns colder, an extra little boost is needed. The only heated alcoholic drink I like is a proper Hot Whisky (the worst of all is Mulled Wine – yuck!).

You need a robust tumbler that is not going to crack with the thermal shock of boiling water and a teaspoon to conduct the heat. Put a teaspoon of brown sugar in the tumbler leaving the spoon in the glass. Add a slice of lemon studded with four cloves. Boil the kettle and fill the glass two thirds full. Immediately top up with a generous slug of whisky and immediately drink.

Don’t be tempted by the extraneous extra ingredients called for by some other recipes.
