Chris Brown (sorry Chris, I keep calling you “Smith”) of Vine Cottage Bakery emailed me to say he has some equipment for sale. Two or three years ago he did a microbakery course with me while he was setting up his bakery in Norfolk. Sadly he has been forced to give it up and, although he is still baking, can’t justify keeping some of his professional gear.
He says he has: “Fimar 25CN spiral mixer with 3 bowls (This was almost indispensable when mixing 140Kg of dough on a Thursday evening) £800
12 Plastic bread crates – large grey stacking £100
600l semi commercial fridge £300
All items are in excellent condition. Open to offers on all the above prices. Keen to see them going to a good home where they will be used.”
Contact me if you are interested and I’ll put you in touch with Chris.
While we’re at it, I’m thinking of changing my work practice which would mean getting rid of my mixer and some platform scales.
The mixer is a Buffalo Spiral Mixer U604 – 35 litre fixed bowl which will handle 17K dough – current new price £780.
The scales are Salter-Brecknell PS-50 which will weigh up to 50K in 50g increments – on ebay today at £60.
Open to negotiation.

Sold – the scales went to Lance and Claire Sullen over the weekend at Trefriw for a mere £30.00. I tried to start a bidding war between Lance and Rick but, just like in “Life of Brian”, no one would haggle. I know they have gone to a good home.
