That Adam Newey knows how to treat a girl. Hang around with him and you only end up in the quality press. Back in 2008 in the Guardian I was the “sourdough genius”. Now in this week’s New Statesman I’m the “sourdough guru”. (What else begins with “G”? – Don’t bother …)
Good old Adam is featured in The New Statesman, “Sourdough Start-ups” 16 May 2014 describing how he set up his microbakery. As an added bonus he swats away the Real Bread Campaign by reducing their relevance to the quality of their puns. That’s genius.
Thanks, Mick! Very glad you enjoyed it. Sourdough god? Hm, I’m going to have to come up with another letter of the alphabet next time, aren’t I?
But seriously, you really are an inspiration – I’m well aware that I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for you.
OK, I WILL get the beer in, honest.
Wot, no cider?!
You’ll have to ask your Uncle Jay for that.
Got a link to the New Statesman story guys?
Alas, unlike many publications they don’t put all their stuff online – I guess so that people have to go and actually, you know, pay money for it. Still, £3.95 is surely a very small price to pay to read my pearls of wisdom …
Peanuts to someone like you, Marcus, to gain access to Adam and his Insights.
Adam’s going to be at Rick’s at end of May too, right? Looking forward to hearing about the Hill Bakery from the horse’s mouth (so to speak), though I agree I can probably stretch to pick up a copy of this week’s New Statesman in the meantime… 😉
Neigh! Looks as if the NS piece is online after all – I guess they wait until people have gone out to buy a copy before giving it away free … Here’s the link: http://www.newstatesman.com/culture/2014/05/sourdough-start-ups-politics-bread-world
See you at Rick’s!
