My life is complete.
When we were in one of the world’s great bookshops, Mollat, www.mollat.com in Bordeaux in September I spotted a rock’n’roll compilation of four CDs. No point in dragging that home from here, I thought – get it in the UK when we get back. In the event, it hadn’t been released over here and I had to wait ‘til the end of October to get my little mitts on it.
Has to be the best compilation of Rock’n’Roll ever. Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochrane, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley when he was still worth listening to, Carl Perkins, Bill Haley, etc., etc. Plus a bonus CD or early related stuff + a booklet. Excellent recordings. All for about £16. And done by French people.
